Adelaide: The Definition Of ‘You Couldn’t Even Score In A Brothel!’
By: Marcus | January 25th, 2010Poor Adelaide!
Last year they were Grand Finalist, this year they are stuck to the bottom of the table and struggling to get onto the score sheet. They have only managed 20 goals this season, that 20 goals in 24 matches. On the night they produced 17 shots, 5 on target, none troubled the keeper.

Melbourne Victory: 2 (Pondeljak 1, Muscat 90)
Adelaide United: 0
Crowd: 20,361 at Etihad Stadium
Pondeljak’s goal on 22 seconds and Muscats penalty after Archie took a tumble in the box in injury time gave Melbourne all three points in a display that seemed to mirror the last time these two played in Adelaide in September, when Ward scored early on and Brebner snatched a late goal. The win gave Melbourne there ninth straight win over Adelaide.
A interesting point that I took from the game was that my belief that the Melbourne vs Adelaide rivalry is on the way down is true. Usually Sydney and Adelaide games pull the biggest crowds, but we got 100 odd more last week against Perth. Next year the big games will be Sydney and Heart, in my opinion.
Melbourne play Wellington tomorrow, that will be the boys second game in three days.
