LEIJER IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
By: Marcus | August 21st, 2009That’s right boys and girls, after two seasons in England Adrian Leijer has decided to come back home and don The Big V once again. This is great news, I am ecstatic! We needed a defender and we managed to get our young starlet back…I’m over the moon.

Leijer, 23, played 41 matches for Melbourne before departing for Craven Cottage in 2007, but failed to make an impact at Fulham. It took 72 hours for the deal to come about which will see Leijer sign a 3 year deal with the club. The A-League Young Player of the Year for 2006-07 reason’s for coming back home were due to the fact that Adrian was unhappy at Fulham as his chances were extremely limited, he barely got a look in at Fulham and was even loaned out to Norwich City in the lower divisions of England. This is great for all parties involved, Leijer will be able to establish himself as a quality defender in the A-League and push for Socceroo selection and Melbourne’s back line will be stronger than ever, with Muscat’s career coming to an end he is defiantly a good replacement. He is bigger, stronger and fitter than ever, can’t wait to see him in action.
Other news in short:
Melbourne sign youth product and promising defender Matthew Foshcini to a 2 year deal
Matt Kemp may miss the NQ match as he is staying with his wife until she gives birth
Vasilevski and Melbourne part ways

I agree Ahmed but I think it was a wise decision to move back, in England our young guy wont get game time, they should follow in Ryka and Jedinak’s foot steps and go to Holland or Turkey.
Our young guys have to be careful, look at Milligan for example, didnt get picked up now he is in ChinaPosted from
