Lopez Leaves
By: Marcus | June 19th, 2009Lopez Leaves
After completing one year of his two year loan, Jose Luis Lopez has decided it’s time to go home, and Melbourne have agreed to terminate his loan. Lopez sited the reason for returning to Costa Rica to play for Deportivo Saprissa was to gain more playing time in order to be able to compete for a spot in the Costa Rican World Cup squad.

“My time here was perfect, from the first time I got here, I enjoyed every moment on and off the pitch,” Lopez said “I’m looking forward to going back, not because I want to, but because I need to.
I need to get to the World Cup.”
Jose made 18 appearance’s last season, and will be missed, though I’m sure the likes of Broxham and Ward will compensate for him easy enough.

a great player but i don’t think he really fit in with merricks tactics. Berger played brilliantly all season and i would have started him also

I agree on Merricks tactics, he didn’t really seem to get around much when he was on the park.
It’s probably a good thing for both sides.
He wanted more game time and we get another international space.Posted from
