Melbourne Sign A Thai Defender
By: Marcus | May 14th, 2009Melbourne Have Signed Thai Defender Surat Sukha

Sorry i just had too….sorry..
Melbourne have added a much needed defender to the ranks in the form of 26 year old, Thailand international Surat Sukha aka สุรัตน์ สุขะ for all you Thai fans out there. He has signed a 2 year deal estimated at $140,000. Sukha is a left sided player who will likely fill the big void left in defence from Ryall’s departure. Surat was bought from Thai power Chonburi FC for a WHOPPING 1.5 MILLION!!! Hold your horse’s it is only 1.5 million baht that’s only $57,000 AUD
.

Sukha has some experience on big stages as he has featured in 75 Thai Premier League games as well as featuring in 15 ACL match’s and being capped 15 times for Thailand. It’s great that Melbourne have signed a defender, I can’t find any video’s on him so I haven’t seen him play, but if he’s anything like former Chonburi player Ney Fabiano I’ll be happy! (minus the spitting though)
Sukha was quoted as saying he was delighted to be the first Thai player to play in the A-League, good luck Surat I hope you do well.
