The MVFC Offside is back!!!

Hey guys and girls, welcome to the Melbourne Victory Offside.

Welcome to the MVFC Offside

My name is Marcus and I am continuing the well overdue MV posts, and I am a Melbournian born and bred!!! I am 18 years old, currently in my last year of high school with an aim of going to University to get a degree in the areas of business management and IT.

I am honored to be able to do the posts on this site for something that means so much to me.

I love my Football (get over it you AFL and NRL hippies, the ball spends the whole game in your hands, were the real football code) and follow many teams in Europe. My background is Italian therefore the team in Europe that means the most to me is AS Roma (though my parents are from Sicily and Calabria). I started following Roma back in the Batistuta days, when we won our third scudetto and my passion for Roma has fueled my love for the world game. The other teams I follow are Valencia, Marseille and Schalke. I follow them because I wanted to follow a team in each of the big four leagues (that’s right England BIG FOUR) to help build knowledge about the leagues and extend my knowledge of football in general.

Melbourne Victory means so much to me mainly because its my team, its a team I can go and watch week in week out, go to the matches with my mates and we can scream our lungs out united in support of our team, its tangible, its a part of me. Where as with my other teams the closest I get to them is the TV screen.

I have been Following Melbourne since the A-League was established, way back in the dark ages of 2005-06, but only in since the last season I have been going to as many games as possible. I will do a couple of posts over the next week or so, one on the grand final and the other on all the post season news.
