VOTW: That Six Goal Thriller

Melbourne Vs. Central Coast

3/9/2006

This game means so much to me, as it was the first time I had ever gone to watch Melbourne play and boy what a game!!! At the time, this match was touted as the best match the A-League had ever seen (though the competition was only a year or two old). The game started with 4 goals in the opening 11 minutes of play, saw Melbourne reduced to 9 men and look down and out….Then then Fred did a bit of squirming, and found Danny!

I went to this game wondering if it was going to be a waste of time, I came up wanting more and it sparked my love for this great team.

That was one hell of a good game and a great atmosphere. That last goal was one of the best set-ups of the season.
