Coming into this game Melbourne had lost 3 in a row.
Coming out of this game Melbourne won 5 out of the remaining 6 matches in the league, and won every game in the finals.
Thrilling game, will be in my memory for a long time to come as it was the first time I had seen Melbourne win. I went to 8 matches previously with no wins, and after the first 4 minutes in this I thought the trend would continue.

There’s nothing better than beating a fierce rival , especially coming from behind to do it…no sexual connotation meant .

  Normally I wouldn’t criticise our defence but the first 2 goals by Sydney, while skillfully taken by the sky-blues, showed that our defence and midfield had to pick up to get back into the game, but the goals and resilience came back.

  Wards goal was a beautiful shot though.

  (We do need discussions.)
